EP 17: Live Your Life With No Excuses

Welcome to Do It Scared™ podcast! In every episode of this podcast, we’ll talk about how to face your fears, overcome obstacles, and create a life you love! Are you ready to learn about what it means to live your life with no excuses, and how that might just change everything? If so, this episode is just for you!

Our culture makes it easy to shift the blame for just about anything: you were bullied, your parents got divorced, you didn’t make the cheer-leading team in 9th grade.

Whatever.

Today, we’re talking about living life with no excuses. If you’ve listened to the previous episodes of this podcasts, you’ve heard the stories of some incredible, powerful, brave women who grew up in tough circumstances but didn’t let their childhoods define them. (And if you haven’t heard those episodes, go back and listen!)

What these women have in common is that they didn’t allow their circumstances to define them. They refused to see themselves as victims, or to give themselves an easy out, even though they each had plenty of excuses to use if they wanted to. Instead, their determination and drive to rise above their circumstances started with their conscious decision to stop making excuses.

There are three steps you can take to make this no-excuses mindset your daily mentality. First, understand that the only thing you control is yourself. The second step is to look for a role model, but not a rescuer. The third critical step is to believe in your heart of hearts that even a good excuse is still an excuse. We all know those people who always have an excuse or a justification. Even a good excuse is still an excuse, so we need to refuse to make excuses under any circumstances.

If you’re ready to change your life, this is the episode for you. Tune in and learn how to stop making excuses, take charge of your mindset, and create a life you love!
